Our experience

Sydney's hidden gem camping site, camping here feels like a vacation. Although this is the first campsite visited this year, the one that integrates lake views, ocean views, sandy beaches, and jungles, with complete facilities and dog-friendly, has become the best camping choice around Sydney in my mind.

The campsite is dog-friendly, and dogs can be off-leash on the beach and by the lake. There are many poop bags around the campsite, very thoughtful. Dogs are especially happy playing, and they even make dog friends. The beach is quite large, so there's no need to worry about dogs getting into fights with each other.

Tiona Holiday Park is located 3-3.5 hours north of Sydney, passing through Newcastle, a 20-minute drive from Sydney's little horse-drawn Foster. In addition, it is located in a prime location between Lake West and East Beach, making it probably the second to none choice around Sydney.

On the west side of the campsite is a shallow lake where even non-swimmers can play in the water. On the east side is a large sandy beach plus the sea, perfect for surfing. Both beaches have fine and soft white sand, making walking on them very comfortable.

In addition to enjoying the water, the most surprising thing is the scenery. A 3-minute walk allows you to enjoy the sunrise by the sea and the sunset by the lake.

The campsite has complete facilities, including private bathrooms (quite clean), a kitchen (with a refrigerator, microwave, gas stove, and even kitchen paper and dishwashing liquid), a laundry room, BBQ grills, and a swimming pool. Each campsite has a water tap and a charging port nearby. Many RVs are directly connected to the campsite's power supply.
