Best Dog Parks in Gold Coast

Best dog parks near Gold Coast we love

Ever since we got our pup, we’ve been looking for good dog parks where he can make new friends and play happily and safely. Here’s a summary of the parks our pup has visited over the past year, shared with dog owners on the Gold Coast!

Scenic Dog Park

Our favourite dog park. We’ve met many owners because of the frequent visits, and everyone is very friendly. Highly recommended! It’s fenced, so you can let your run around without worries.

Gold Coast Botanic Garden

The area at the back is where dogs can be off-leash, and there’s no fence. Dogs can swim here.

Tallebudgera Beach

The dog beach and the regular swimming beach are separate, and the scenery is beautiful. The key is to get some custard tarts from the nearby Custard Canteen by the parking lot.

The Spit

This is a well-known dog beach. You can find out more about The Spit here.

James Overell Park

This park isn’t a true dog park, but local residents take their dogs for walks there, so there are usually many dogs after work hours. However, be cautious about your dog’s safety as there’s no fence, and it’s right next to the road.

When heading to the beach with your furry friend, don’t forget to pack the essentials. To ensure a comfortable day out in the sun, bring along plenty of water and a collapsible bowl for your dog to drink from. Sunscreen specially formulated for dogs is also important if your dog has short hair or sensitive skin.

Additionally, consider bringing a portable shade tent or beach umbrella to provide some relief from the sun’s heat. And of course, always remember to bring poop bags and dispose of them properly to keep the beach clean for everyone’s enjoyment.
