How do you know if your dog feels loved by you?

7 signs that dogs show when they love their owners. Have you noticed them?

Circling and rubbing against you:

When dogs feel affectionate, they may circle around you and rub against you. Dogs have scent glands in their heads, so when they rub their heads against you, they are leaving their scent on you to claim you as their own.

Face licking:

Licking is another way dogs express intimacy. If you have owned multiple dogs, you may have seen them licking each other. When a dog licks your face, it is a sign that it considers you as part of its family.

Rolling over and exposing its belly:

When you pet a dog and it rolls over, exposing its belly, it’s a sign that the dog is happy and, at the same time, it completely trusts you and enjoys being around you.

Following you:

If your dog follows you from one room to another, even when it’s not hungry, and tries to be close to you by jumping on tables or counters, it clearly enjoys being in your company and wants to know where you’re going next.

Raised tail:

A dog with its tail standing straight up indicates a strong affection. You may notice that when a dog approaches someone or another dog it doesn’t know, its tail hangs down. If a dog gently wags its tail or uses its tail to sweep you, it likely has a fondness for you.

Resting its paw on your arm:

Don’t retract your hand if a dog places it on your arm or tightly holds onto it. This behaviour signifies that the dog has strong feelings of affection for you. You can respond by gently petting the dog to express your own feelings.

Resting its chin on you:

When a dog likes to rest its chin on its owner’s hand or foot, it demonstrates a strong dependency and a fondness for the owner. So, when you see your dog being affectionate like this, you can gently stroke its head or give it some treats or kibble to make it even happier.
