Our experience

School holidays are coming up, and we've decided to go camping. But, of course, we're bringing our furry friend along. A friend recommended this place, and after experiencing it firsthand, it's absolutely perfect for those with dogs. Highly recommend it to everyone!

Best Friends Holiday Retreat is located in Tarra Valley, it's a 2.5-hour drive from Melbourne (with a bit of challenging mountain road towards the end).

1. The campground offers 5 fenced tent sites and 6 fenced caravan sites to choose from. There are also cabins, each with its own fenced yard, so your dog can roam freely within the fence.
2. There are also 6 huge fully fenced off-leash areas, each with ample space and dog toys provided.
3. The campground has a dedicated dog washing facility with free water and dryer.
4. The shared bathrooms are very clean and include shower facilities.
5. There's plenty of wildlife around the campground. We were lucky enough to see a koala passing by very closely, carrying a baby koala on its back!
6. There's no signal at the campground, but there's Wi-Fi available at the reception.

Nearby attractions for your furry friend:

1. Adjacent to the Tarra-Bulga National Park, very close by.
2. A 17-minute drive to Yarram town, where you'll find some cafes.
3. 30 minutes to Port Albert, a beautiful seaside harbour.
